The Board of Trustees of the Franklin Lakes Public Library has named Elysse Fink as its new Library Director following a competitive tri-state search. Elysse officially started in her new role September 5.
Fink brings more than a decade of experience working at public libraries throughout Bergen County, including Mahwah, Hasbrouck Heights, and Hillsdale Public Library, in addition to Bergen County.
Most recently she had served as the Director of the Leonia Public Library since 2019. Prior to being promoted to Director, she was Leonia’s Young Adult and Adult Librarian for 4 years.
“Most of my career has been spent working at smaller libraries,” said Fink, “and I’m eager to make an impact on a larger scale. Franklin Lakes is close to home, and after meeting with the Board, I felt like it would be the perfect fit to take my career to the next level.”
“During her time in Leonia, she successfully led her organization through an unprecedented pandemic, demonstrating her adaptability, problem-solving, collaboration, and effective communication with residents, library staff, and the Board of Trustees,” says James Keebler, Consultant, Library Crossroads.
Elysse holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Muhlenberg College, and a Masters in Library and Information Sciences from San Jose State University.
