Libraries of Middlesex Automation Consortium (LMxAC) has named Eric Lozauskas as its new Executive Director following a nationwide search. He will begin in his new role February 1, 2023.
Lozauskas will bring a wealth of experience working in New Jersey library consortia when he takes the lead in February. Eric has worked at Bergen County Cooperative Library System (BCCLS) for nearly 18 years in various roles including Computer Technician, Manager of UNIX and Network Services, mostly recently Director of Information Technology.
“Having been in the library space since 1999, I’ve seen countless products and solutions emerge for libraries to help create better service for patrons,” said Lozauskas. “With new technologies becoming available at a faster pace, libraries are often being pulled in multiple directions with limited funds. One of the advantages for libraries in a consortium is that they have the opportunity to pool their resources to implement cutting edge services, optimize library processes and enhance the patron experience.”
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from William Paterson University of New Jersey, and a Master’s of Science in Information Systems with a concentration in Information Management from Stevens Institute of Technology.
“I’m excited to help the libraries of LMxAC continue on their path of growth and I look forward to getting to know each individual library,” Lozauskas continued. “Developing an understanding of their strengths and challenges, and evaluating opportunities to make use of new innovations will further grow a diverse and thriving consortium.”
“The search committee was very impressed with Eric’s technology background, experience in negotiating contracts, and project management skills, and his enthusiastic approach to the new role he will be taking on,” said Kimberly Paone, President, LMxAC Executive Board. “We on the Executive Board look forward to working with him.”
